Recently we stood at the fenceline overlooking the pastures to plan our fall crops. We noticed the strange attention that our farm dog was giving to the tomato plants. To our surprise, she pulled a tomato hornworm off of the plant and ate it!
Gross!! First of all, we were surprised that there were ANY tomato worms on the plants with the care that we had given them. Then, as Steven continued to check the plants, the dog found even more tomato hornworms and eliminated them.
We have no experience with the Dachshund or Jack Russell breeds of dogs, but this 50-50 cross has turned out to be a really great farm dog!
