March 4, 2017: We started our Ashley cucumber seeds from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. Once sprouted, we put them out on warm days in our mini greenhouse. They went into the ground the end of April and gave us a tremendous yield. They grew up the Hortonova trellis webbing and were in a northwest exposure. They had drip irrigation and were so productive that we began peeling, dicing, and freezing them. To my amazement, the thawed cucumbers were still very crunchy and made a delicious addition to fresh salads.

August 15, 2017: We were so impressed with the growth of these Ashley cucumbers that we started a couple more seeds in the ground on this date. Below is a picture taken October 1, 2017 with loads of blossoms and promise of a fall harvest!
