Green Beans

In April we dug three lengthwise rows in a garden bed that spent its winter with Austrian Winter peas. Now cleared for spring planting , we sprinkled a generous amount of rabbit poop along the bottom of all three shallow trenches and dropped in Blue Lake Bush Bean seeds.
We wonder if it is the rabbit’s contribution that the beans like so much! All of the plants are very productive with perfectly beautiful fat beans!

The top photo was taken of some of the first bean harvest both french cut and snapped.

First harvest May 29. Total: 4lb 4oz.

Second harvest June 1: total of 5lb 5.9 oz. (bowl tared to 0 before weighing beans)

Third harvest June 5th: total of 5lb 5.6 oz. We are seeing a few little green worms on the fruit.
